Sweet and Savory

Are you a salty sweet lover. These plantain chips nail it on the head! With a crisp salty outside and sweet gooey inside, they sure do satisfy. Serve these HOT out of the air fryer to capture the full crisp!

These are so simple, so delicious and I bet you once you get your hands on some plantains you have the other ingredients. COCONUT OIL and SALT. That’s it.

I was really inspired to make these from my addition to Barnana Plantain Chips These are hands down my favorite. Their ingredients are Plantains, Coconut Oil, and Himalayan Sea Salt.
I LOVE finding brands like this. Simple ingredients. Amazing taste. Soo amazing I can’t always have them around the house lol

Which led me to these, little air fried bites of deliciousness.

How to Make:

These come together super quick! And are the perfect snack or make a dreamy arepa. Picture some barbacoa and beans…BAM!

But back to the action, peel and slice your plantain into ¼” slices. The thinner you go the crispier they will be, the thicker will give you a little softer chip. Next melt your coconut oil and coat the plantains, sprinkling a little salt over them.

Make sure to lay in a single layer in the air fryer, otherwise they will not brown. Cook for 11-12 minutes and they are done!

Ingredients

  • 100 g Plantains
  • 5 g Unrefined Coconut Oil
  • Sprinkle Sea Salt

Instructions

  • Peel and slice plantain into 1/4" slices.
  • Melt and coat coconut oil over plantains.
  • Sprinkle with salt.
  • Lay in single layer in air fryer.
  • Cook at 370* for 11-12 min or until lightly brown and crispy.

Notes

Perfect as a side dish. 
Love in an arepa, wrap, or burrito!
